I took Macromedia Director in the summer of 2005. This class was taught by Stephen Latourette. I had already taken Authorware and found it rather easy. Director is a very similar program but it requires more coding than Authorware’s “plug and play” type of control. This course was rather difficult for me but in the end I’m glad I made it through the class. The semester started with four students and in the first two weeks everyone but dropped the course for various reasons except me. I fell more accomplished as a designer for challenging myself to develop in this software.
This taught the pieces of the program but Stephen also touched on the differences of types of images, video clips and I learned how to record audio clips. Something I would like to improve is the narration of my audio recordings. I’d like to keep a user interested in the program by what is being said as well as what is on screen. To keep with my development theme, I create The Advanced Clogging Resources Program using Macromedia Director.
